Summertime HOT Updates

The Stonefield Community HOA Board met on July 22 in the COOL A/C at the Baxter-Patrick James Island Library. The business portion of the meeting began at 5:30pm. The meeting was then opened to community members at 6:30pm, with two members present in person (no online attendees this time).

During the meeting, a brief summary of the treasurer's report was given, stating that all invoices for recent tree work had been paid and that the new online payment system for HOA fees was functioning well. The board also discussed the current landscaping contract and decided to explore alternatives for both the scope of work and the service provider. A survey to gather community input on landscaping will be distributed soon.

Concerns from community members were noted during the meeting regarding the appearance of the neighborhood, particularly related to trash and vehicles. The July Newsletter also mentioned receiving complaints about trash.

  • Construction debris should be removed by contractors instead of being left on the side of the road. It's important to limit the amount of material put out for pickup each week.
  • Vehicles should only be parked on private property within a driveway or garage. If this is not feasible, please utilize the street near your property. Make sure all vehicle registrations are up-to-date.
  • Let's aim to be good neighbors by following Stonefield covenants and city laws, taking care of our properties, showing respect to one another, and offering each other grace.
  • On a similar note, please PLEASE slow down while driving in our neighborhood. Parents of new drivers should also share this reminder. Rushing to save a few seconds is not worth risking harm to a person or pet.

It is WILD that we are nearing the end of this fiscal year already!

Keep an eye out for potential upcoming community events [think Halloween and Christmas decoration contests, "Trick or Treat" in the common area, community yard sale…]. We’d also need volunteers, so if you're interested in participating, sharing ideas, or lending a hand, please reach out to Carolyn.

Leading up to the End of Year Meeting and Elections happening in October, we will be sharing information about HOA Board roles and time commitments. If you're considering running for the Board, don't hesitate to ask us any questions you may have.

As always, please email us at board@stonefieldhomes.org if you have questions or concerns.
